At Adaptive Landscape Design, we specialise in designing engaging, safe, and nature-inspired play spaces for childcare centres, schools, and community areas. Our approach blends creativity, sustainability, and safety, ensuring that children can explore, learn, and develop through play in thoughtfully designed outdoor environments.

We design playful landscapes that encourage imaginative play, social interaction, and motor skill development, all while meeting Australian safety standards. Every space is tailored to suit the needs of educators, parents, and—most importantly—children.

Urban Play & Learn

Designed to provide a welcoming and stimulating environment,  this childcare centre caters to 120 children aged 0-3 and 3+, fostering exploration, creativity, and early development. The spacious layout is carefully planned with age-appropriate play areas, encouraging interactive and sensory-rich experiences that support cognitive and motor skill growth. Safety is our top priority, with secure play zones, soft surfaces, and compliant design elements ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment. Each feature is thoughtfully selected to inspire curiosity, nurture social connections, and promote holistic development, creating a joyful and enriching space for every child.

Expansive Childcare Playground with Nature-Inspired Play Areas A large childcare play space featuring sand play zones, wooden climbing structures, slides, and shaded areas for outdoor learning. The surrounding fence and soft landscaping provide a safe and engaging environment for children.

Evergreen Explorers 

This native garden playspace seamlessly blends adventure with nature, creating a stimulating and immersive outdoor environment for 80 children aged 0-3 and 3+. Designed to celebrate the natural landscape, the play area features climbing nets, swings, and interactive elements, all thoughtfully integrated with the surrounding native vegetation.

The design prioritises sustainability and sensory-rich experiences, incorporating wooden structures and natural materials to foster creativity, exploration, and a deep connection with nature. With a strong focus on safety and developmental engagement, this playspace provides a secure, inspiring, and enriching setting where children can learn, grow, and play freely.

A thoughtfully designed childcare playspace set within a native Australian landscape, featuring natural materials such as timber logs, climbing structures, and rope swings. The play area is shaded by majestic eucalyptus trees, creating a cool and inviting environment for children. Soft mulch and sand surfaces blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings, while native plants and sensory gardens encourage exploration and connection with nature. The design prioritises sustainability, incorporating wooden balancing beams, stepping stones, and interactive play zones that foster creativity and motor skill development.

A thoughtfully designed accessible playground featuring wheelchair-friendly paths, inclusive swings, and sensory engagement areas. Playspace includes softfall mulch and wetpour rubber as well as sandpit area and wooden forte playground structures
